Sounding Board for Business Owners

You already have ideas. Maybe too many. Or maybe one big one that's weighing on you.

sound·ing board /ˈsaʊˤndɪŋ ˌbɔːd/ — noun:

A person or group you talk to in order to test out ideas, gain perspective, or make sense of things stuck in your head.

This service is designed for small business owners and solopreneurs who need a focused, structured partner to work through business challenges, brainstorm strategies, and shape a clear plan of action — without hiring a consultant or committing to a long-term coaching program.

What is this Service About?

It's a focused, two-session package designed to move you from mental clutter to actionable clarity.

We begin by deeply understanding your business context, goals, and the specific challenges or ideas you're grappling with. We explore possibilities together, identifying where you're stuck or uncertain. Then, between sessions, I dedicate time to research, refine concepts, and develop tailored strategic options based on our initial discussion.

In our second session, we review these developed ideas, sharpen them collaboratively, and structure them into a concrete, prioritized next-step action plan you can implement immediately.

This is not standard coaching or consulting. It’s structured business ideation and strategy support — done with you, focused on enabling your decision-making.

Questions & Answers

How is this different from regular business consulting?
Consulting often involves deep analysis and delivering specific recommendations or solutions based on the consultant's expertise. This Sounding Board is more collaborative; it's a structured process focused on your ideas, using my questions and research to help you refine strategy and create an actionable plan. It's about thinking with you, not for you.
What kind of business challenges can we address?
Common topics include clarifying business strategy, validating new product/service ideas, prioritizing projects, brainstorming marketing approaches, improving operational processes, or preparing for a major business decision. If it involves strategic thinking or idea generation, and requires clarity, it's likely a good fit.
Do you provide industry-specific advice?
My role is primarily as a thinking partner, helping you structure your knowledge and ideas. While my broad experience across tech and business provides context, I don't offer specialized consulting for specific industries I'm unfamiliar with. The focus is on the process of thinking and planning, not specific technical solutions.
Can the two sessions be scheduled close together?
Typically, there's a gap of several days to a week between Session 1 and Session 2 to allow adequate time for my independent research and your review of the preliminary findings. We can discuss timelines during the intro call.
Can I skip the second session if the first session already clears things up
The full package is structured around two sessions because the independent analysis work happens between them. Skipping would not reduce the price, but we can use the second session for deeper refinement or expanding future ideas if needed.
Can I request additional sessions afterward?
Yes. Follow-up sessions can be scheduled as needed, usually at a reduced rate.
Is the research phase collaborative?
The research and initial idea development between sessions are done independently by me, based heavily on our first session. This allows for focused work and brings fresh perspectives. You receive the preliminary findings to review before our second session, where we refine them together.
What if I need implementation help after getting the roadmap?
The Sounding Board service focuses on strategy and planning. If you require assistance implementing the plan (e.g., web development, technical setup), those would be separate services discussed and quoted individually.
Can I do this face-to-face?
Yes, face-to-face sessions are available! We'll agree on the details beforehand, and I’ll include any extra travel or venue costs transparently before final confirmation.
What’s your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
Cancel at least 48 hours before the session for a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable. Rescheduling within 48 hours incurs a 50% late rescheduling fee.
Is this confidential?
Yes, absolutely. All discussions and any materials shared are treated with strict confidentiality.
